Born and bred in South Africa, I have had a fascination with the arts all my life. At the end of high school I had to make a career decision as to either follow my creative passion or enter into the corporate world, I entered into the corporate world. In 2007 I took the bold step of investing in camera equipment and so my photographic journey started.

 

eClick started at the same time and this was my entry into photojournalism with two purposes in mind, firstly to showcase my work and photographic adventures and secondly to share my experiences in such a way that budding photographers would read my articles and walk away with an understanding of how to approach each situation as presented and walk away with great images.

 

Over the last few years, photography has taken me to great places as well as meeting interesting people. Photography is a powerful medium of expression and communication. I have come to realize that I am the only limitation in my photography. It’s not about having the latest equipment, but about having the ability to see the shot and capture it in camera and not in post processing. This is my life long quest.

 

Early in 2011 I got involved in photographing boxing, and formed a company called nSquared with life long friend and fellow photographer, James Gradidge. We have grown the business over the past year to now being the premier photographers in this field in South Africa.

 

Late last year, I started shooting for stock under the banner Delme Thomas Photography, and continue to build businesses around this passion of mine.
